SACRAMENT PREPARATION for Ages 11-17 [Baptism, CONFIRMATION, AND/OR 1ST EUCHARIST]

“In those days Jesus departed to the mountain to pray, and He spent the night in prayer to God. When day came, Jesus called His Disciples to himself, and from them He chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles.” ~~ Luke 6:12-13

Youth Ministry Sacramental Preparation is for those in middle-school and high-school grades 6th - 12th. The Diocese of Phoenix is a restored order diocese, which means that both Confirmation and First Communion are ordinarily celebrated in 3rd grade. Youth Ministry Sacrament Preparation is a two-year program that will prepare any middle or high-school age teen for youth of any or all of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, First Communion), as well as, for their 1st Reconciliation.

The two-year youth ministry sacramental preparation includes all of the following:

  • attending weekly Mass
  • attending weekly evening EDGE or Life Teen (depending on grade)
  • as well as, attending Tuesday evening sacrament classes with a parent/godparent/sponsor.

If your youth already has their Sacraments (or are not ready for Sacramental Preparation yet), we invite them to look into joining St. Helen Life Teen (9th-12th graders) or EDGE (6th-8th graders).

2026-2027 SACRAMENT PREPARATION assessment appointments available: MAY 3, 2026 thru AUG. 19, 2026.
