Youth Ministry
= OUR VISION =
Through EDGE and Life Teen, the St. Helen Youth Ministry team aim to raise young growing disciples in love with Christ and His Church, transforming their homes, schools, and communities by lives lived in and for the love of God. We have about 70 youth active in our programs and hundreds more to reach.
= LIFE TEEN & EDGE =
Life Teen and EDGE are comprehensive Catholic youth ministry programs with a strong focus on the Eucharist, and they are a parish-based Catholic-centered ministry for all middle school and high school teens.
The goal of Life Teen and EDGE is to create an environment to lead youth into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. It speaks to youth on all levels: emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual.
In order for Life Teen and EDGE to achieve its full potential, the full support of St. Helen Catholic Parish is essential. Our youth minister, Deepa Duran, works closely with the priests and initiates, organizes, and oversees both ministry programs among a Core Team of trained adult leaders, parish leadership, and the parish community.
= ST. HELEN EDGE meets on Wednesday nights, 6:30-8:00pm in the Teen Center =
Each EDGE Night falls under one of three themes: Liturgy, Morality, or the Creed. The primary objective is to encourage youth to realize a deeper relationship with Christ and to challenge them to live their faith as they carry out their daily lives. Middle school youth experience this sharing in an atmosphere of love and acceptance from their peers and the adult leaders who are there to assist them in their journey.
= ST. HELEN LIFE TEEN meets on Sunday nights, 5:30-7:30pm in the Teen Center =
Each LIFE Night falls under one of eight themes: Scripture, Person of Christ, Paschal Mystery, Church, Sacraments, Morality, Social Justice, Vocation, and Liturgy.
The primary objective is to encourage teens to realize a deeper relationship with Christ and to challenge them to live their faith as they carry out their daily lives. Youth experience this sharing in an atmosphere of love and acceptance from their peers and the adult leaders who are there to assist them in their journey towards adulthood.
