Sunday Gathering 4pm to 5:15pm- EDGE
The Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry experience created for youth in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. The
EDGE is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional and social needs of our youth. Our young people are always
welcomed and encouraged to bring their friends to the EDGE. The goal of the EDGE is to move our middle school youth into an
adult faith commitment to Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. This year we will be breaking open stories in Sacred Scripture
in a fun and in-depth way. For example:
  • Who's own brothers would sell him (Joseph)?
  • What made Solomon so wise?
  • Did Samson really get all that strength from his hair?
Classes begin September 18, 2011

Sunday Gathering- E.T.C.
At St. Helen Parish our high school teens are very important to us and we know that EVERY TEEN COUNTS….   “E.T.C.” for
Christ!  We have created a very exciting program for our 9-12 grade high school teens to help provide them with opportunities
to encounter Jesus Christ, to grow in their faith, build Christ centered lives and find ways to bring their faith into all aspects of
their daily lives, environments and communities……wherever they may be.  E.T.C.  meets on Sunday afternoons in our Teen
Center basement from 4pm-5:15pm and together with a very dedicated team we will look at putting our faith into action
through hands on activities and projects designed to get our teens involved and active in their faith! This year we will be
looking at dating, relationships and break open Blessed Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body for Teens.
Classes begin September 18, 2011

Youth Group (Peer Ministry)
In addition, our high school teens are invited two Mondays each month to the High School Youth Group we call Peer Ministry.
ol Youth Group we call Peer Ministry (see Calendar).  We do a variety of faith-filled, loads-of-fun activities and service projects
including the building of our Haunted House (for our canned food drive) in October, Visit with St. Nicholas in December and our
week-long leadership camp in July - LifeTeen Steubenville Conference in July.  Come and check out all the fun and make some
new friends too!

Steubenville West is an amazing weekend of prayer, fellowship, fun and experiencing God's love in a new way through Holy
Mass, sacrament of Reconciliation, Adoration, quiet time to reflect, great guest speakers and wonderful musicians who keep
things moving! Steubenville West is held at the University of Arizona in July of 2012. More information will be posted as it

Sacrament Preparation - RCIT
Rite of Christian Initiation for Teens
We invite any young person, grades 6-12 or young adult, who may need any of the following sacraments of initiation: Baptism,
Confirmation, Holy Eucharist or the sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession), to begin the process and preparation. This
journey will invite young people to conversion and immersion in our Catholic Tradition, provide time to question and reflect
about faith, become an active part of the Church Community - the Body of Christ; prepare to fully participate in the Holy Mass
and life of the Church and fully receive the wonderful sacraments of our Faith. We will meet on Sunday Mornings at 9:45am.

Young Adult Ministry
Our Young Adult Ministry is an amazing group of young men and women who gather together to share Christ, their faith and
friendship with one another. Any and everyone between the ages of 18-25, single or married, working, studying or playing is
welcome. Our Young Adults are some of the most hospitable, welcoming and service minded people in the parish. They gather
approximately 1-2 times per month depending on the study, service project or social activity they are working on. This group
gathers and establishes their own calendar and activities based on the members' needs and interests.

What does the Young Adult Ministry do? Some past activities have included:
•        Mission Trips to Mexico
•        Habitat for Humanity Homes
•        Retreats
•        Potlucks/Dinners
•        Volleyball Games
•        Coffee Nights
•        Scripture Study
•        Guest Speakers
